Reflections 2022-2023

This year's theme is:
"Show Your Voice"

The Reflections Program is a National PTA arts competition for students from pre-K through grade 12. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works of art in response to a theme. 

IMPORTANT DATES

Submission due dates are December 2 (scan and email submissions to Kate Scher); and December 5 (physical submissions). Students or parents can drop off physical art work in the Reflections Box in the front office. Please make sure that art work is correctly labeled with your Student's name, grade, teacher, title of artwork, and the description on the back. 

 

Art Show December 8, 6p - 7:30p. The Clyde Hill Reflections Art Show will be in the school gym on Thursday, December 8, from 6p - 7:30p. We need volunteers to help set up for the art show. If you are able to volunteer, please email Kate Scher.

 

December 12: Winning Artworks to advanc to Bellevue Council. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The winners' artworks will be advanced to Bellevue Council level and have a chance to advance to state and national level. We will celebrate all participants' artworks with an online art show.

CATEGORIES

Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 students are encouraged to submit original works of art in one or more of the following categories (Clyde Hill is reducing the category submissions this year):

  • Literature – works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.

  • Musical Composition – original musical composition, with or without words.

  • Photography – color or black and white, included techniques: photogram, negative sandwich, and multiple exposure. 

  • Visual Arts – drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.

 

Special Artist Division: Students with disabilities may receive special accommodations by entering the special artist division and are encouraged to enter any category.

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

 

Participating is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Create your work of art - make sure your art follows the rules

  2. In 100 words or less, write about how your artwork relates to this year's theme, "Show Your Voice!"

  3. Complete the registration form.

 

Submission:

 

1. Scan your work and email it to Reflections@clydehillpta.org

2. Submit your work with the completed registration form to your art teacher Ms. Berg.
