Any member would be happy to talk with you about what is happening at PAT. 

This year’s PAT Facilitator is Christa Chambers and the PTSA Representative is Ramsay Ringo.  Other parents serving on PAT are Leslie Feller, Yolanda Rubio-Couttolenc, Holly Westerberg and Darci Russell. Elizabeth Campbell records the minutes.

Teachers are chosen to serve on the PAT by Jennifer Benson, the school principal.

Staff is represented by Shannon Leahy.  Jennifer Benson is our principal and completes the PAT membership.

PAT Meeting Minutes

Interested parents may submit their applications to the Selection Committee in the spring.  Parent PAT Members are selected by a Selection Committee consisting of one continuing and one outgoing parent PAT member and the PTSA representative on PAT.  The selection process shall be confidential.

Staff representation will be facilitated and reviewed by the Principal prior to the first PAT meeting of each school year.

Anyone can attend a PAT meeting.  They are generally held monthly on Tuesday afternoons.  Check the calendar for exact dates.

PAT is a group comprised of parents, teachers, staff, and the principal which meet on the third Tuesday of every month to discuss different school programs and their effectiveness for meeting student and staff needs.

The Clyde Hill Elementary Program Advisory Team (PAT) is charged with providing a forum for effective decision-making among the Clyde Hill staff, parents, business and community partners.  The PAT shall focus their efforts on issues that will have a positive effect on student learning and create a positive learning/work environment.  The PAT will work to establish goals that support the principal and teachers in their efforts toward maintaining positive student learning outcomes.

The agenda for the meetings are set by the PAT Facilitator and the Principal and work to execute the Annual Work Plan for the PAT. The annual plan is determined at the first PAT meeting for the school year.

2008-2009 Program Advisory Team  Members

· Math Curriculum: Determine best way to provide Math Curriculum overview to parents via Math Night presentations throughout the school year, so parents are equipped to assist students with homework. Review surveys of math nights in order to improve future programs.

· Review PTSA-Funded Programs: Provide input to PTSA’s budgeting process for 2008-2009 school  year via a complete review of Specialist programs and detailed feedback from teacher surveys.

· Student Profile Form Review: Discuss 2007 revisions to Student Profile Form to see how it worked for teachers. Make any changes needed to ensure teachers get information they need to make the placement process meaningful.

· Virtues Project: Provide information to the parent population about the Virtues Project, via a monthly newsletter article and a Parent Night. Emphasis will be on how the Virtues are incorporated into the classroom and how they can be implemented at home.

· AVID Program Implementation for Grades K-4: Discuss ways to bring the concepts of AVID down to K-4 grade levels, define ways parents can support the program, and discuss a timeline for implementation in the 2007-08 school year. Communicate the AVID program to parents and how to assist and support their students with these important study skills.
