School Committees

Children's Art Displays: Help our fantastic art teacher, Jessica Holloway, to display and preserve displays of our childrens' art around the school. Take down and hang art in displays around the school. Contact Holly Westerberg at westerberg-family@comcast.net to be connected with Ms. Holloway.

Clinic: During the lunch recesses every day, parent volunteers staff the clinic to provide TLC, Band-Aids and very basic first aid to students as needed.  No formal first aid training is required.  Most of the clinic visitors are dealing with minor issues.  For the occasional more serious issue, the office staff is right across the hall.  Sign up to volunteer once a month, twice a month, once a week, or whatever works best for your schedule.  The times are as follows: MTTHF – 11:25-1:00 and Weds – 10:55-12:10.  If you are interested in joining the clinic volunteer team, please contact Annie Roth at annie@roth-family.net.  Thank you!

Library: Sign up for a time slot to help a visiting class. Help with check out and restocking. Please contact Christine Strandell (christine@strandell.org) to volunteer

Reflections:  Various volunteer duties such as gallery setup will be needed. Contact Marin McEntyre (mmcentyre@hotmail.com) or Michelle Sevier (mdsevier@comcast.net) to volunteer.

Room Parent: Every classroom needs a room parent or two, or even a room parent committee. Work with the teacher on classroom parties, a volunteer schedule and other class-related items that come up during the year. Be the communication link between the teacher and parents on non-curriculum related items. Help coordinate a class project for the auction. Contact Lynette Scheuing (roomparents@clydehillpta.org)

Volunteer-at-large: Cover a library shift as needed, fill in at Walkathon, set up for the auction. Your name will be added to a list of people who can be called in a pinch.

Hearing Screening - Monday September 12th (8 AM – noon): Sign up to help with the annual hearing screening for all students.  While university students from UW Medicine administer the tests, parent volunteers are needed to scribe, chaperone, walk students to and from class, etc.  If you interested in helping for the whole morning or even just an hour or two, please contact Annie Roth at annie@roth-family.net.  No experience necessary.

Vision Screening – date TBD:  Sign up to help with the annual vision screening for all students.  Parent volunteers are needed to perform vision screenings and record the results (training provided), as well as to chaperone and walk students to and from class.  Please contact Annie Roth at annie@roth-family.net for more information.

BSF (Bellevue School Foundation): Phonathon (October) Man the phones at this annual fundraiser. 

Book Fair (November): Set up, restock, or work the register (training provided). Contact Katie Sims (katie@kms-communications.com) for more information.

Young Scientist Week (January): Plan, organize and coordinate the Young Scientist Week activities.  Lots of activities and events related to the week.  Contact Pamela Phillips (ysw@clydehillpta.org)

School Auction (March): As our largest annual fundraiser, many hands are needed to run this event. There are several committees including procurement (item donation), decorations, guest relations, underwriting and catalog. Heritage Festival (April): Help celebrate Clyde Hill’s diversity during our annual potluck.  Contact  Kate Lee (heritage@clydehillpta.org)
