Letter to Families of Clyde Hill Elementary

Clyde Hill Families,

Clyde Hill Elementary Auction is just around the corner…(March 24^th)

We need you to both procure and attend! Why?  The money raised is how The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) pays to enhance both our children’s education and experiences at Clyde Hill Elementary.

Did You Know Funds raised help pay for Educational Assistants (EAs) that play a major role at our school?

• The hourly rate for an EA is between $14 and $15.
• Per week, Clyde Hill Elementary allocates $2300 for additional classroom support, which includes reading assistance.
• EAs help with pupil management (recess, lunch and crossing guard)-that’s $1420 a week.
• In all PTA contributed $105,000 for extra support staff during the 2011-2012 school year. The more the PTA gives to the school, the more the school has in its general operating budget and can allocate for grade level planning time and individual student support.
• $40,000 has been allocated to Curriculum Enhancement Grants for teachers.

In addition to these facts, your PTA funds also help pay for Science Fair, Heritage Potluck and curriculum enhancement programs.  We cannot provide valuable services and programs without the support of our parents and community members.  Please support and attend the Clyde Hill Auction. Volunteer Recruitment

The Clyde Hill Auction Committee is looking for volunteers to help with the schools BIGGEST fundraiser.  The Auction this year is on March 24 th 2012.  Our theme is “Unity in Community.”  There are many ways you can help.  We need still need people to help with logistics, auction catalogue (writers), event planning, data entry and procurement.

Procurement

We are in the thick of procuring items for the silent and live auction. We are looking to procure a variety of things.  Every few weeks we will highlight items needed to complete an auction package….this week it’s AIRLINE MILES AND VACATION RESORTS AND HOMES.  For example, donate you private get-a-way home for a long weekend!  PROCUREMENT DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 29.
